Hidden Power Demos
Explore energy, electricity generation and efficiency with miSci educators. These interactive demonstrations rely on audience participation and use manipulatives, providing an interactive learning opportunity. This new program was developed by the Franklin Institute and the Penn State Center for Nanoscale Science, a Materials Research Science and Engineering Center supported by a National Science Foundation grant. NASA's Driven to Explore Exhibit
The Schenectady Museum presents NASA’s Driven to Explore exhibit in partnership with CMOST for 2 days only: Thursday, July 12 @ 12 – 9PM* & Friday, July 13 @ 12 – 5PM* at the Schenectady Museum & Suits-Bueche Planetarium (*last tickets sold 1 hour before closing). Immerse yourself in the story of NASA: learn why we explore; discover the challenges of human space exploration; and see how NASA provides critical technological advances to improve life on Earth. And touch a 4 billion-year-old moon rock brought back aboard Apollo 17, the last manned mission to the moon in 1972. The moon rock is one of only eight lunar samples in the world made available for the public to touch. Explore science throughout the Museum with special hands-on activity stations staffed by Museum Educators, CMOST, and other collaborators! Enjoy special Planetarium shows running every half hour throughout the day (July 12, 12:30 - 8PM and July 13, 12:30 - 4:30PM). See space-related objects on display during this event only. Space ice cream available for purchase in the Museum shop and food from other area vendors including: Fast Trax ice cream and kettle corn, Maria’s Peruvian Delights, Bette’s Cupcakes, Annabelle’s Café, and Manhattan Exchange.
