This is a Silver-bowled light bulb. This bulb was introduced around 1935 and developed by the Silvray Company.  Silver-bowled light bulbs were mounted base up so that the direct light would be reflected upward and while allowing people to only be exposed to the softer, indirect lighting.  They are still being produced and marketed by various companies to this day.  If bulb should have MAZDA, GE monogram and the wattage and/or voltage etched on top of bulb [see A44], bulb was manufactured from 1935 (approximate year of introduction) to 1945.  If the bulb has the GE monogram and the wattage and/or voltage etched on the top of the bulb but WITHOUT the MAZDA trademark, which was discontinued in 1945, bulb was manufactured from 1945 onward.
