“Bulb is Un-tipped.  Although tip-less bulbs were first manufactured not long after the appearance of Edison’s first successful incandescent lamp, they were difficult and expensive to produce and are quite rare.  Today’s tip-less bulbs, which first appeared on the market in 1919, are manufactured by exhausting the air with a tube inserted into the base of the bulb and then sealed upon removal of this tube.”

OPTION B: 520 -  (Figure 202 - thumbnail) – “Bulb is un-tipped and frosted on the outside of either the bowl only.” Go to 520A.


OPTION C: 530 -  (No Photo - thumbnail) – “Bulb is un-tipped and frosted on the entire outside.” Go to 530A.


OPTION D: 540 - (Figure 39 - thumbnail) “Bulb is un-tipped and frosted on the entire inside.” Go to 540A.


OPTION E: 550 - (Figure 207 – thumbnail) – “Bulb is un-tipped and silvered-bowl.  Bulb has a silver coating on the outside of the bowl (the lower part of the bulb) which shields the bright filament from direct viewing while reflecting the light upward for indirect illumination.”  Go to 550A.


OPTION F: 560 -  (No Photo Available - thumbnail) -  Bulb is un-tipped and smooth and has a smooth, milky white surface.  This is a White Mazda Lamp with an enamel coating. Go to 560A.

OPTION G: 570 -  (No Photo Available - thumbnail)  - “Bulb is un-tipped and smooth and is a Deluxe White or Soft-White light bulb, also known as a Q-White bulb.” Go to 570A.
OPTION H: 580.1 -  (Figure 581 - thumbnail) – “Bulb looks like the usual pear shaped household light bulb but has two extended inner leads extending the filaments into crumbled aluminum foil, strips of aluminum foil, or a tangled mass of aluminum threads that occupy most of the space inside.”  Go to 580A.

OPTION J: 590 -  (Figures 81s and 82s - thumbnails) – “Bulb looks like the usual pear shaped household light bulb but has a V-shaped tungsten filament or two S-shaped tungsten filaments at the tips of the two extended inner leads as well as a metallic or silver colored drop of liquid inside it.”  Go to 590A.
