Why a usage fee?

Usage fees help the Museum continue to acquire, preserve and provide access to the history of technology since the 19th century. The Schenectady Museum provides free access to its online collections and images may be used for personal, research and study purposes only.  As the physical rights holder of the material, the Museum must charge a usage fee if images are used in any nonprofit or commercial publication, broadcast, etc.
For usage fees for print publication distribution above 75,000 items, please call for prices.
